Today my baby boy is 14!

I really can't believe it...

Dave's Foot Surgery

It has been a long couple of weeks for Dave.

Just about 2 weeks ago he fell off a ladder, pinching his foot in the ladder

and then landing on the ladder when he hit the ground.  

He broke his foot in 2 places and he had major surgery last Friday

to repair the damage.  When they got in do the surgery, the could see how badly it was

broken.  The surgeon said that some of the bone was nothing but dust when he go in there so they

had to take a bone graft from his heel to repair the break and help it heal.

He is in a hard cast for 2 weeks and is confined to bed or a couch for the first week

to keep it elevated.  In 2 weeks they will take that pin out that is hanging outside his foot

and put on a "boot" but he can't put any weight on the foot for 6 weeks!

Asking to Sadie's

Now that Homecoming is over, it's time for a girl's choice dance.

Sadie's is in a few weeks and Talbie and her friends have been busy asking dates

and planning the day!

    Talbie asked her date with a plunger and Almond Joy's saying:

"I would OVERFLOW with JOY if you went to Sadie's with me."

 Then, we couldn't resist this bag of "body parts" at Target and wrote:

"It would tear me apart if you said no."

 Talbie got her answer tonight with dreaded goldfish!

There were a couple of dead ones by the time it was delivered :)

She was excited to be answered!  We rescued the goldfish by taking them down by the office where I work and we let them go in the stream :)

New Family Picture

Last Wednesday we had new family pictures taken by

Jessie Evans (Jessie Alexis Photography).  She does such an excellent job

and  I got to see one of them yesterday and I'm so excited for how they've turned out.

Homecoming 2012

Talbie had a great time at Homecoming!

I'm just so thrilled that her first date/school dance, was so fun for her!

Here in Utah, the school dances are "marathon dates."  They last

the entire day!  Her date, Morgan, picked her up at 11:00 and they 

went boating.  She had so much fun and was in a really fun group of all her friends.

Talbie had never been boating, since we don't own a boat!

She rode on the tubes being pulled by the boat and had so much fun being knocked off :)

She got home around 3:00 to get ready for the rest of the evening.

I'm really mad at myself because I did not get good pictures!

I took a million of the bootineer I picked up for her, but in the hussle

of him coming and me and Talbie trying to pin on his flower, I

later realized I didn't get a single picture of them standing together!

I will post the fun pictures they had taken together and as a group

as soon as she gets them.

OHS Homecoming Assembly

Talbie and her friend Sarah and Marilyn performed

at the Homecoming Assembly this morning at OHS.

They were SO GREAT!  I know how stressful it must be to perform in front

of a thousand of your closest friends!  They had to audition for a chance to do this

and there were only 4 groups chosen :)

Feeling Old!

It's really hard to prove to your kids that you were ever "cool" or had good 

taste in clothing at anytime in your life.

I tried to explain to my girls that when I got married, my dress was

really beautiful and in style.  They dug it out of the closet

and tried it on.  I have to admit - it didn't look as cute as I remembered it :)

Emmie's Science Fair Project

We finished Emmie's science fair project last night. Her project was evaluating which toilet paper was the most absorbent and the best value. It turned out great!

Talbie Getting Asked to Homecoming

Talbie was so excited to get asked to Homecoming this year!

She was asked about a week ago and we had fun shopping for a dress

last weekend.  Homecoming is next Saturday!

When she was asked, she was just getting out of the shower

when the doorbell rang...

 There was a giant Rice Krispie treat shaped like a Hershey's kiss on the front porch

 We answered him a few days later with little Hershey Kisses

 We got a chocolate eye ball and wrote on it "Eye' would love to go!  Talbie"

Be buried it in a bucket of kisses.

 We had great success finding a darling dress!

We actually bought two dresses because each dress was under $20.00.

Now we have a spare :)
