End of the Soccer Season - for now

Emmie had her last soccer game last night until spring.

She ended her season last night by scoring an awesome goal!  Way to go Emmie!

Crazy Hair Day 2011

Emmie is our only elementary school girl these days so this year

crazy hair day was much easier.  It's today and we did the good old standby

of putting cups in her hair.

Maddie the Hair Stylist

Maddie is cruising through her education at AVEDA and is loving

every minute of it.  She has needed "models" during some of her phases at school

and I volunteered to have my hair colored by her this week.

I can't believe how naturally talented she is at this.  It must be in our genes.

My Grandma V owned a "beauty shop" on 500 West in Provo for years and years and I would come every summer and help in her shop - taking curlers out of ladies hair, cleaning the brushes, getting drinks for the ladies - and my very favorite chore was stamping the backs of all her checks that were ready to deposit :)

 We tried an experiment and we colored my hair darker.  It's never been

this dark in my life so I'm not sure how I like it but Maddie did a great job on the color!

Talbie's Bug Collection

For Talbie's Biology class, she had to put together a bug collection.

I think it's so nasty but thankfully she had a wonderful brother, dad, and grandma Pat

who helped her in collecting bugs!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We have the best daddy in the world and it's his birthday today!

Fall Festival 2011

The Fall Festival is upon us.  It's the event that

every parent dreads (I do anyway) but every kid looks forward to all year!

One thing I like that our school does is that each kid decorates a pop bottle

and they win them that night doing a "cake walk" like game.  The reason I like this

is because the bottle are sealed and it doesn't matter what you do to the outside, they're still edible.

I HATE the cake walk and we don't do it because I end up throwing the cake

away that the kids win because I don't know who made it.  Mean - I know!

This is what Emmie and I came up with this year :)

This year the theme is a "cowboy" theme because it's in September instead of October.

Homecoming 2011

We didn't have anyone that "technically" went to Homecoming this year

because Talbie's only 15 and Maddie's graduated

but Talbie had to go and help because of Student Council.

 She was excited to but she got pretty bored because 

everyone was with dates all night.  Oh well - at least she got to dress up for the night :)

Labor Day Fun - Extreme Sports!

We had great fun this morning and went to

Lowe's Extreme Sports in Provo.  The kids have been dying to go and we had so much fun!

Maddie showed us how it was done right when we got there

because she's a tumbler and had been there many times before.

 Dave likes to pretend he's 20!  I'm so thankful he didn't kill himself!

 Talbie was hilarious :)  She worked hard at climbing the rock wall

and then when she'd fall...

 She would plug her nose - every time!  It's like she was 

falling into water.  Oh it was funny!

Mary Poppins

Remember when Talbie was chosen to compete in this competition?

Mary Poppins Contest

Well, last night was opening night for "Mary Poppins" at the Capital Theater in Salt Lake.

Talbie loved it!

 Here she is in front of the theater - ready to see the show!

 I'm so glad she had this opportunity to see this show.  We're lucky that Salt Lake get

many Broadway shows to come here.  This is where we saw "Wicked" a couple of years ago.

I saw Mary Poppins on Broadway with my parents and Brittany, but I can't take

my family to New York City so this is the next best thing!

We're also lucky that Maddie's hair talent is shining through.  Emmie and Talbie

get new hair dos every day.  This is what Maddie did before the show...
