Shooting Range Date Night

Our wonderful neighbors planned a date night with a few couples.

It was so fun.  We went to a local shooting range and shot guns

and then we went out to dinner.

Dave and I don't shoot very often and we really should!

He enjoys it so much and he's so good at it.  I'm actually surprised

how much I enjoy it when I go!

 

Fall Soccer 2014

Emmie had a terrific soccer season this last year.  

She was on the competition soccer team Firestorm.  She was so blessed

to be picked at tryouts to be on this team.  The coaches are just great!

Both of her coaches have daughters on the team.  Coach Hendricks founded the team

and picked Emmie up at tryouts in the Spring.  Then Coach Lewis joined the team with 

her daughter.  Coach Lewis was Timpanogos Girl's Soccer coach for years

and they take Stake just about every year.

Emmie grew so much just over the summer and this fall when games started.

She is quite the soccer forward now!

Here are some pictures from her season.  They will be starting indoor

soccer on the middle of December.  I'm really glad the are doing this

so they won't loose all of their skills they have been working on.

Halloween 2014

Halloween is pretty uneventful around here these days.

Since I don't have any kids in elementary school, dressing up is not as exciting.

 Halloween night we went to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat.

Maddie joined us dressed like a gypsy

Bronson's 16th Birthday/General Conference

Bronson turned 16 on October 5th!  It was a great weekend!!

 On Friday night we drove to Salt Lake to pick up Talbie :)

My cousin Eric and his little family have moved to Rexburg and his wife, Angie

was coming to Salt Lake for Conference weekend to see her sister so Talbie was able to 

drive down with her ;)

We didn't tell Bronson and Emmie she was coming home  

They were pretty excited!

 On Saturday, we all went to lunch between Conference sessons.

It felt good to have everyone together.

 I made breakfast Sunday morning and had my family over before Conference started

We had a little birthday celebration for Bronson.

 His favorite gift was these swords Emmie gave him.

They have been dueling ever since!

 We had tickets to the afternoon session on Sunday and

we were lucky to be able to get an extra ticket for Talbie.

 It worked out so well that we were up in Salt Lake for Conference because we were able to drop Talbie off afterwards so they could start heading back to Rexburg.

It was such a great weekend spent with family.  

It was a blessing to have Talbie home for the weekend too!!

Bronson is officially 16 and the next day (Monday) we went and

got his driver's license.  Now all he needs is a car :)

Hair Today - Gone Tommorow!

Bronson has been wanting to grow his hair out but I just can't allow it.

For some reason he really wanted to grow his hair into a mullet.

He really wasn't letting up on the idea so I told him if he got a 4.0 for the

last term of school last year, I would let him grow it out.

He had never gotten a 4.0 before.  He always comes close but usually

has a B or an A-. 

Well - he did it so I had to keep my word and I let him grow his hair out all summer

and he had a mullet when school started.

 I didn't really love this look but I knew he would get sick of it. 

And he did :)  Maddie cut his hair a couple of days ago...

Talbie at BYU-I Finally!!

Well - the day finally came for Talbie to start school at BYU-I.

She has been looking forward to this day for a long time :)

 She started packing and filling our storage room with stuff about a month ago.

 Here she is just before we loaded the cars

 She got her room set up really cute!

 We left Rexburg on Saturday and our cousins - the Gee's

had her and her roommate over for Sunday dinner. 

 

 And she sent me a first day of school picture :)

I can't tell you how pleased we are that Talbie is at BYU-I.  I don't think I've ever

seen such a wonderful school!  I went to BYU Provo and to tell you the truth, I don't think

it compares to how this campus embraces their students.

Talbie is living in the dorms.  There is 2 bedrooms and a kitchen that 4 girls share.  

She knew one of her roommates from school here but the other 2 they got to know over the 

summer through emails and texting.  They had everything planned as to who was bringing what so there wasn't a lot of duplicate stuff in the kitchen and family room.  Talk about being organized!  I wonder how many boy dorms were set up so well :)

Another comfort is that the Gee's are so close.  I makes me feel so good that she has a little home away from home and someone to call if she has an emergency.  Thank you Amy!!

She has already had a full week of classes and she is thrilled to be back at working hard and studying.  This girl knows how to study!  That's why she didn't have to pay a penny of her school

and after her tuition and housing was paid for, they deposited $250.00 into her account for books that was left over from her scholarship and a grant. :)

Emmie Gets Braces

Emmie Got braces a couple of weeks ago.

She is the last of the kids to have them ;)  That's a happy thought!
