Girl's Camp 2016

I have been to Girl's Camp more times as a leader

than I ever did as a youth.  I have to admit that I've enjoyed it

much more as a leader than I ever did as a youth :)

I have been spoiled the last 2 years because I have been the

"Camp Cook" and Dave has been up at camp with me and Emmie

the last 2 years as our Bishopric member.  It sure has made my life easier!!

Our Stake had camp at a ward level this year so we were all alone.

We went to our YW President's family cabin (Andrea Brown ;)

It was in Lava Hot Springs and so fun!

Here is a group of some of the 8 new Beehives that went to camp this year.

We were so glad to have them because they doubled our numbers!

 Brittany was a trooper!  She went to camp even though she had broken her foot a month before

and was still hobbling along in a big boot!

 The highlight of the cabin was this amazing rope swing!  The girls had so much fun on it

and I was even convinced to go on it.  I was pretty nervous but ended up loving it and did it many times!  Here is Emmie mustering up her courage on her first time!

 We had secret sisters and mine was Hayley Whitlock this yea!

She gave me some great gifts but my favorite was this picture she gave me of Dave ;)

She got this picture off of either Talbie or my Instagram.  We snapped it one day

of Dave goofing off and it came back to bite him :)

 We canoed on the lake near by.  Another reason it was so great to have Dave there.

He was the muscle and we would have never gotten the canoes do the lake

without him!

 One thing our ward always does is Paper Plate Awards.

Dave's this year was "Big Hunk"

It fit him well!  He was worked to death!

 I got the Miss Hannigan award.  Dave and I slept in a separate bunk house

so we couldn't hear the girls if they were up talking all night.  It didn't bother me when they went to bed but I was the only one with a voice loud enough to yell when it was time for them to calm down and go to bed.  Therefore - I got this award ;)

 The Bishopric came up on our last night.  I think Dave was glad to see

them :)  This Kyle Farley (2nd couns) and Dainon Haggard (exec. secretary)

The Rexburg Temple and the Gee's

Oh we love Rexburg!  Every time we go, Dave and I try and think

how we could uproot our family and move there!  There is just something about that place!

On Saturday night, we went to the Rexburg Temple grounds.

This is the field across the street from the temple.  It is like an ocean of fields.  

They go for miles and miles and miles.  It is an amazing sight.

 

On Sunday we went to church with the Gee's and then went over to their

house afterwards for dinner and to visit.  We love the Gee's and love spending

time with them!  Amy and Shawn are so good to Talbie while she's there at school!

 Finally - the beautiful Amy Gee.  She looks as  young as the teenagers.

You would never guess she was the mother of 7 children.  She is a beautiful person

inside and out!!  We love you guys!!

More Rexburg and Bear World!

While we were in Rexburg visiting Talbie, we went to Bear World!

This is located just outside of Rexburg and it was so great!

We went to Yellowstone last year and didn't see half the wildlife we saw

at Bear World.  We loved every minute of it!

 The first part of the part you drive through and look at all the animals.

 Then you enter Bear World's gift shop

 and then enter the best petting zoo ever.  These animals were so tame and there were little gumball type machines that you could buy food in.  They come right up to you and let you feed them.

Visiting Talbie

For Memorial Day weekend and went to Rexburg to visit Talbie. It was just Dave, Emmie, and I because Bronson couldn't get it off work :(

 
Talbie was so excited to see Emmie :). Once we got there, we headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant! 

 After that, we went and did some grocery shopping for Talbie and got some things together so she could send a care package to Parker who is in Indiana working this summer. 

After that we went back to the hotel to swim. 

Here is proof that I actually packed a swim suit and swam. I usually don't so it was a miracle :)

 

Girl's Camp Retreat

This past weekend we had our annual Girl's Camp Retreat.

We went to the same place that we went last year.

Our YW President (who was our camp director last year)

has a family cabin up in Wallsburg and it's a beautiful place.

I'm not in any of the pictures because I was the photographer :)

I like it better that way.

I have been spoiled that Dave gets to come to most of these things.

When we have to have priesthood or bishopric members come, it's

easy to volunteer Dave ;)

 

Emmie's Spring Break

The kids had Spring Break last week.

We didn't do anything too eventful but Emmie got the opportunity to

go to Mesa, AZ with her friend's family for 4 days.

They had a great time!

They went to the Mesa Temple

 Rented a house and did a lot of swimming...

 And even did some horseback riding!

Her friend, Maddy is so great and I'm so thrilled

they are such great friends!!
