We went and saw "UP" yesterday and we weren't disappointed. It was a cute show and very touching. Go see it!

Megan's Wedding and Post #600!

This is my 600th post on my blog...

Yesterday was Gus and Megan's wedding. It was a beautiful day at the Salt Lake Temple and we had a great time together at the reception that night

Brittany's family, my dad, and Talbie and Bronson. Bronson and Emmie were bored after the first 15 minutes. Luckily my parents came close to the beginning of the reception so they could bring them home with them.

Talbie didn't catch the bouquet but she did snag a rose that flew out of it!

The last hour of the reception was a dance. This is Abi and Maddie trying to get the dance started. It was so much fun when it was in full swing!

Talbie is a little more timid than Maddie. Usually when I have the camera on, my kids stop doing what they're doing. Listen in this video and you'll hear Maddie say, "Mom - video me!" She's an odd duck but she makes me laugh so hard :)

Swimming Lessons

Emmie is my baby and my only child still in swimming lessons. This makes me feel so old. I'm proud of her because she is in a class that is way too hard for her but she is working so hard at learning all her strokes and trying to swim the length of the pool. She keeps saying, "I wish I lived in Texas so I could practice my swimming everyday!" (Her cousin Ember has a pool!) I will need to be sure to get her to the pool a lot this summer after her lessons are over.

Golf Workshop

The first 2 days of summer (Monday and Tuesday), Bronson and Brock took a Jr. Workshop at the golf course by our house. It was really fun for them and the first time they've really tried anything like this. The workshop ended yesterday but they also got a pass for 6 rounds of golf (9 holes), 8 buckets of balls to hit on the driving range, and 2 passes for 18 holes of golf. It's going to be a fun summer of golf for these two.

Their friends from our neighborhood were also in the class, which made it fun!

Sweet Talbie

I just have to brag for a minute about Talbie. She is the most charitable person I think I've ever met. She loves to do things for other people and the "catch" is that she's always so cheerful as she's doing it.

A month before summer started, she volunteered to help at the local movie theater. She goes once a week for a 4-5 hour shift, while they play the movies that all the kids can come to. It's 100% volunteer and she gets paid nothing to do it.

Then, she also wanted to volunteer at the care center down the street from our house and yesterday was her first day to do this. She went and helped the ladies with crafts and did manicures. She came home so chipper and told me about each of the ladies and about the lives they've had.

She is such an inspiration to me and I hope her desire to serve stays strong throughout her entire life. As school was ending, she was telling me how busy she was going to be this summer (serving) and now she has been blessed with some great babysitting jobs too so she will be earning some money to supplement her school clothes shopping :)

Motor Cross Saturday!

Today we were itching to get out of town and do something so we decided to take Brittany's family with us up to Heber so Dave and Bronson could ride their motorcycles. Dave's mom has a huge yard and field they can ride in. Logan brought up his little motorcycle too and we had such a great day! I think Jared is hooked now so we should have motorbikes for everyone in the family soon!

Today was so fun! It brought be back to my childhood and riding motorcycles in my grandpa's pasture in Caldwell, ID. I still have a scar from a burn on the back of my left leg from riding with my dad with shorts on when I was about 4. I learned to ride by myself when I was probably 11 or 12 and I had a few good wipes outs of my own!

Maddie... Shortly after this jump, she did it over and over and on the last time, the jump broke and the wheel of the bike got stuck and threw her off. The wheel ran over her and I was so thankful she was wearing jeans. Her stomach has some tire marks on it though!

"Who's Calling?"

Today the kids will go to school for and hour and a half and they our summer break will officially begin! They have all gotten their yearbooks and had everyone sign them. It's been the highlight of Maddie and Talbie's year. I love our elementary school because they also do yearbooks and it's so fun for the kids to have to look back at year after year.

Emmie caught the bug of having everyone she knows sign her yearbook. When you're in the first grade, that consists of just signing your name and phone number.

Yesterday I got 2 calls on my cell phone - from boys asking for Emmie.

I asked Emmie, "Emmie, what number did you put when you were signing yearbooks?" She said, "801-362-XXXX" I about died! I said, "Emmie - that's my cell phone number!" She then said, "Yeah, because I can never remember the other one!"

It's going to be a long summer of calls from 1st graders :)

Dance Festival

On Wednesday, Bronson and Emmie had their annual "Dance Festival" at their school. Bronson and the 4th graders performed the "Virginia Reel" that they did earlier in the year. Bronson would have hated every minute of it except that his "crush" was his partner. Pretty lucky!

Emmie and the 1st graders did "The Mexican Hat Dance" and it was so cute! She insisted on wearing a sombrero, but the only ones we had were bigger than she was.

Memorial Day

WE CLEANED OUT THE GARAGE!! What a great feeling!!

We haven't been able to use half of our garage because we were collecting yard sale junk for 9 months. I'm so relieved to have it all gone

As we were bringing stuff out so we could clean, Bronson wanted to get his dirt bike running. Dave taught him how to take the spark plug out, beg his sister for a ride to the auto parts store, come home, change the spark plug, and start it up for the first time since last year. He was a happy boy!

In the afternoon we met Sandy and Alisa's family at Jessie's grave.

Then we headed to Alisa's for a BBQ. Dave makes some yummy homemade BBQ sauce and Maddie put it in an old bottle, and made this awesome label with the vinyl machine we are borrowing from our generous neighbors. We're having so much fun with it!

It was a great day!

Sunday Art

Emmie handed me these pictures during Sacrament Meeting today. I asked her who was in this first picture (even though I knew one of them was me because of the hair do) and she said it was me and dad! I love her pictures!

She later drew one of just Dave. She felt like he needed to be a little bit bigger. At least his tie is bigger. I won't be getting pictures like this for much longer because my baby is getting so big. I had to treasures these while I had them.
