School Pictures 2014

We got school pictures for this year :)

Here they are.  Only 2 kids with school pictures.  Seems so weird!

Hair Today - Gone Tommorow!

Bronson has been wanting to grow his hair out but I just can't allow it.

For some reason he really wanted to grow his hair into a mullet.

He really wasn't letting up on the idea so I told him if he got a 4.0 for the

last term of school last year, I would let him grow it out.

He had never gotten a 4.0 before.  He always comes close but usually

has a B or an A-. 

Well - he did it so I had to keep my word and I let him grow his hair out all summer

and he had a mullet when school started.

 I didn't really love this look but I knew he would get sick of it. 

And he did :)  Maddie cut his hair a couple of days ago...

Talbie at BYU-I Finally!!

Well - the day finally came for Talbie to start school at BYU-I.

She has been looking forward to this day for a long time :)

 She started packing and filling our storage room with stuff about a month ago.

 Here she is just before we loaded the cars

 She got her room set up really cute!

 We left Rexburg on Saturday and our cousins - the Gee's

had her and her roommate over for Sunday dinner. 

 

 And she sent me a first day of school picture :)

I can't tell you how pleased we are that Talbie is at BYU-I.  I don't think I've ever

seen such a wonderful school!  I went to BYU Provo and to tell you the truth, I don't think

it compares to how this campus embraces their students.

Talbie is living in the dorms.  There is 2 bedrooms and a kitchen that 4 girls share.  

She knew one of her roommates from school here but the other 2 they got to know over the 

summer through emails and texting.  They had everything planned as to who was bringing what so there wasn't a lot of duplicate stuff in the kitchen and family room.  Talk about being organized!  I wonder how many boy dorms were set up so well :)

Another comfort is that the Gee's are so close.  I makes me feel so good that she has a little home away from home and someone to call if she has an emergency.  Thank you Amy!!

She has already had a full week of classes and she is thrilled to be back at working hard and studying.  This girl knows how to study!  That's why she didn't have to pay a penny of her school

and after her tuition and housing was paid for, they deposited $250.00 into her account for books that was left over from her scholarship and a grant. :)

Emmie Gets Braces

Emmie Got braces a couple of weeks ago.

She is the last of the kids to have them ;)  That's a happy thought!

Family Pictures 2014

We are leaving Thursday to take Talbie to Rexburg to start school.

Before she left, we wanted to snap a few family pictures.

We had Maddie's fried - Maddie M - take them for us.

First Day of School 2014

I'm a bit behind on my blog but I need to share first day of school pictures.

 It was really strange to send only 2 kids off this year.

Talbie will start her first day of classes at BYU-I on September 15th!

Emmie started 7th grade

 Bronson our big 10th grader

 We are blessed to live by my sister (in our backyard :)

We can carpool so much easier this way.  I drive to the junior high

every morning and she takes to the high school.

 Then of course we had to get Emmie and Logan together.

We have this same picture every year since they started preschool when the were 3 :)

I felt a little ambitious this year and made these little gifts

for friends, home teaching families, and my visiting teachers with kids.

It was a fun way to start the school year off!

Happy Birthday Talbie - #18!

Talbie is 18!

Talbie is such a joy to our family!  She is so brilliant, beautiful, and hilarious.

Just last night she said to me, "I'm 18 tomorrow!  That means I

can order stuff off of an infomercial if I want!"

I didn't know that was such a big dream of hers ;)

I will post more pictures after all the festivities have ended!

Spanish Fork Rodeo

My family went to the Spanish Fork rodeo this week and had so much fun!

 Emmie all dolled up and ready to go!

This girl is getting so big!

 We were sad Maddie and Logan couldn't come but they are

in Lake Powell with his family this week.

 I think Bronson's favorite part of the rodeo was all the concessions stands :)

Notice how long his hair is getting.  

We made a deal that if he got a 4.0 last year,  I would let his grow

his hair out over the summer.  It was a fair trade :)

 Logan brought his friend, Blake.  These 3 have been friends forever!

 Talbie also got to bring 2 friends - Kayla and Sam.  

My dad ended up with a lot of extra tickets because Bret and Cody's

families couldn't come

Emmie Goes to Camp

My baby went to Girl's Camp this morning!

It's so weird to have her gone.  She is lucky though because she has

her Aunt (Brittany) up there for the first 2 days and her dad will be up there

the entire time!

Dave won't be hanging around camp the whole time.  He and his business

partner, Jerry Swiss (who is the bishop of a ward in our Stake) went up to

help get water, cut firewood, and shoot their guns in their spare time.

Here she is yesterday as we dropped off her stuff to load into the trailer...

 Then I found this nice note on my bed after she had left.

She is so sweet!

I'm so glad I get to go up on Friday night for Bishopric night and

see her a day before she comes home!!

Talbie's High School Graduation

Talbie is officially graduated!

It happened last Friday, May 30, 2014.

The commencement was held at UVU. 

 She and some of her friends, met at the high school before graduation for pictures.

This was such a great idea and it was so great to get pictures of them at the school one last time!

 Talbie and Gretta.  They were in every elementary school class together and

have been friends since the first day of kindergarten :)

 Talbie and Kayla - Talbie met Kayla when Talbie was still in my belly

and it was Kayla's first day at church - when she was a month old.  

They have been in the same ward ever since and best friends!
