Brittany's 40th!

My sister, Brittany will be 40 on April 9th.

I wanted to do a little surprise party for her but wanted to do it a couple of

weeks before her birthday so she would get suspicious!

 I made these funny cupcake heads.  I thought they were hilarious :)

 Maddie has discovered that she has a talent for making and decorating sugar cookies!

 I'm so thankful these great friends could come and celebrate with us!

 I gave her wrinkle cream and dark spot remover cream - since she's getting so old ;)

Prom Part 2 - The Asking and the Answering

I thought I'd better document how Bronson asked his date

Bronson's Prom 2015

It felt weird writing that title!  It didn't seem weird when my girl's

turned 16 and started dating.  I know it was weird for Dave.

Last night was Prom and Bronson (and his friend's) first dates.  They all

turned 16 within the last few months.  That seems very weird to me :)

He was a good sport and let me snap a few pictures before he left.

Here is Bronson, Brock and Hayden before they left to pick up their dates.

I always worried that Bronson was going to take after his mom and sisters and

stop growing after he hit 5'0".  I always consider him to be so tall at 5'10"

but his friends are the OHS basketball team so it makes him look short :)

 Their group arrived first so we started taking pictures.

There were 2 of us taking pictures so it was hard because everyone was

looking at different cameras.  I still think they turned out great!

 Look at this beautiful place we took pictures.  Brittany's in-laws live

in this neighborhood so we took the pictures outside and in their beautiful house.

 This is panoramic shot of the group.  Ian is on the end because he date was late

and showed up just before they left for dinner so we only have a couple of pictures

with them together in it.  He's pretending to cry in this shot :)

This is such a fantastic group of kids and they had such a fun time!

Emmie's 13th Birthday and Valentine's Day

Emmie's birthday is on Valentine's Day.  If you are going to have your birthday

on a holiday, this would be the one to do it on ;)

Since Valentine's Day and her birthday were on Saturday, she got to celebrate

Valentine's day on Friday :)  She brought these cute suckers to share with her friends.

 Friday afternoon Maddie came over because she wanted to make Emmie's birthday cake.

She got some layer pans and colored each layer a different shade of green -

Emmie's favorite color.

 Saturday morning we picked up Emmie's best friend - Jill!

We have a tradition that instead of having a party, Emmie and Jill go

out to lunch and then to a movie.

Here they are 5 years ago in 2010...

 ...and then this year.

 I dropped them off at the movie.  I thought they were old enough to

go alone this year since they are 13 :).  They went and saw

"Into the Woods"

Then I picked them up and we went to Emmie's favorite

restaurant - The Pizza Factory

 Our YW leaders put this cupcake on the girl's lawn when

it's their birthday.  They really look forward to the cupcake!

 After the celebrations and cake - Emmie opened her

presents.  It was a good birthday for her!

It was so beautiful in the kitchen window and looked like this for over a week!

Shooting Range

A few Saturdays ago we decided to go to the local shooting range

so Logan could shoot the new gun we gave him for Christmas.  Dave also loves an excuse to

get all his guns out and practice.

Talbie had to work this day so couldn't go with us.

We had a lot of fun.  Next time I think we will leave Emmie home though

because it was too loud for her - even with ear protection on.

She did not enjoy it one little bit!
