Girl's Camp Retreat

This past weekend we had our annual Girl's Camp Retreat.

We went to the same place that we went last year.

Our YW President (who was our camp director last year)

has a family cabin up in Wallsburg and it's a beautiful place.

I'm not in any of the pictures because I was the photographer :)

I like it better that way.

I have been spoiled that Dave gets to come to most of these things.

When we have to have priesthood or bishopric members come, it's

easy to volunteer Dave ;)

 

Emmie's Spring Break

The kids had Spring Break last week.

We didn't do anything too eventful but Emmie got the opportunity to

go to Mesa, AZ with her friend's family for 4 days.

They had a great time!

They went to the Mesa Temple

 Rented a house and did a lot of swimming...

 And even did some horseback riding!

Her friend, Maddy is so great and I'm so thrilled

they are such great friends!!

Shower Remodel

 Being married to a contractor, has it's perks :)

We have been in this house for 20 years next month.

We have made a lot improvements.

The shower in our master bathroom takes a beating because it's our main shower.

Even though we have 2 other showers in our house, we use this one the most.

I like it that was because it makes less I have to clean :)

Dave found some new shower surround glass at a restore place.

He spent $10 on it, when it would have cost over $1,000.

It didn't fit exactly, so he was going to have make a small cut in one of them.

We didn't know that tempered glass can't be cut.  As he started to cut it,

it shattered!

We had to improvise and find some other glass and tile to compelte it.

I love how it turned out, it just took a little longer than planned :)

Tour of BYU Athletic's Building

Emmie's soccer coach - Eric, has Robbie Bosco in his ward

and they set up an amazing tour for the girls of the Athletic's Building at BYU.

Robbie Bosco was the quarterback for BYU footbal and was the QB

when they took the national championship in 1984.

Emmie had so much fun on this tour and it was very motivational for her!

Family Hike

We have been taking advantage of our warm weather because

everyone knows that spring is Utah - very unpredictable.  We could get snow tomorrow ;)

 Logan couldn't come because he was working on homework

But Maddie came with Zu and Koda.

They both out hiked us :)

I love hiking!  I need to invest in some good hiking shoes/boots

so I can really get serious about it

Bridal Room Tour at the Provo City Center Temple

The new Provo City Center Temple has been doing a wonderful thing

over the past month.  Along with the open house that is open for the public,

they have have been hosting tours on Sunday that are by special invitation

to some of the Stakes in the Provo/Orem area.

These tours are only for unmarried girls from ages 8-30, and their mothers.

This wonderful tour shows the girls the bridal room (which is not shown during the regular open hour tour) and one of the main sealing rooms.

This was such a wonderful experience!  This temple is breath-taking

and having this opportunity was very special and probably a chance of a lifetime.

 We were double blessed to get to have Dave some with us to represent our Bishopric.

He wasn't allowed on the tour (because it was just for girls :)

but he was there at the end to great us all and they gave him souvenir handkerchiefs

to give to each girl as then ended the tour.  It is a great keepsake for them and they

will be able to use them at the dedication in a few weeks.

Provo City Center Temple Open House

This afternoon we had the privilege of attending ANOTHER temple open house!

We were able to tour the Payson Temple just 8 months ago.

Right after the tour, we saw my friend's daughter who is serving a mission here!

It was fun to see (and meet) Lauren!

 These temples just keep getting more and more beautiful!  This temple is breathtaking inside!

I have never seen so much stained glass in my life!

Christmas "Day"

Well - because our kids are older and Maddie and Logan

have to split their time between both their families, we decided that after we got

home on Christmas Eve from grandma and grandpa's - we would have "Christmas!"

 This was so great!  Even though my kids are older - they

ALWAYS wake us up at the crack of dawn.  Doing this meant we could sleep

in and not get up so early :)

 Christmas was a success and everyone was happy with their gifts.

Bronson got a 3D printer and it kept everyone busy the rest of the night.

He and Logan have been creating things on it ever since!

Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's

Our family tradition is going to my parent's house for Christmas Eve.

We always have such a great time together!
