Loveless Family Reunion

Saturday (after the pioneer breakfast) we headed to our family reunion on the Loveless side. This is my mom's side of the family. There are 3 girls in her family - Dena, my mom (Pat), and Georgia. My Grandpa Loveless died when I was 8 and Grandma V (Vivian) died 12 years ago. Every Christmas the girls get together and carry on the traditions of my grandma, but we havent' been together with the entire family since my grandma died. This was a great day and a new tradition we will continue with every year.

We were blessed to be able to hold this reunion at my Uncle Reed's Sister's home in Lindon. This place is amazing!

And the end it was time to ride the big train! This train goes through their property and the property their kids have. It's about a 2 -4 block ride and so fun!

We had such a wonderful time with everyone and can't wait to do it all again next year!!!

Pioneer Breakfast

Yesterday morning our ward had a wonderful Pioneer Day breakfast at the church. We have such a wonderful ward and over the last 13 years we have made some life-long friends :)

Joseph, McKay, and Bronson - Took over the handcart. McKay's grandpa and grandma served a mission a few years ago at Martin's Cove. His grandpa makes these wonderful handcarts.

Latest on the Birds...

Our little family of birds got really big last week and grew feathers! I didn't realize how quickly these baby birds grew up and "left the nest."


Yesterday morning Bronson was outside working on his new tree house (more on that to come) when he heard the mommy bird squaking and he saw the baby birds fly out of the nest. One baby couldn't quite fly and before Bronson could realize what was happening, Zoey (our naughty dog) went for the bird. Bronson caught her but no before she had hurt the baby bird :(

Dave put on some gloves and scooped the baby bird up and placed it back in the nest, hoping the mommy would still come and take care of it...

But, later that evening when Dave went back to check on the bird, it had flown out of the nest again and was on the ground.

So Bronson and Dave decided they had better try and nurse it back to health until it can fly on it's own...

Luckily Dave's a farmer and knows what to do in these situation. He made a nest for it and placed it in a shoe box. He was even able to feed it some worms and cherries. We'll see how it does. Hopefully it will be a success!

Talbie Sings in Sacrament Meeting

Brave Talbie - sang her first solo in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday. She sang "I Need Thee Every Hour" and I accompanied her. She did a beautiful job!

Look What's in Our Apple Tree...

A couple of weeks ago we discovered a nest in our apple tree! We were so excited to watch and see if the mama laid some eggs in it. Yesterday, Talbie discovered the baby birds! They are so fun to watch...

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July. We didn't want to go to the "Stadium of Fire" this year so we went with Dave's family and celebrated at the BYU Training Room. Lynn and Kevin were our wonderful hosts and we ate tons of great food, the kids swam, played football out on the field, and then watched the fireworks!

It's a tradition in our family to go to the Oakley Rodeo every year during the 4th of July weekend. We had a great time and the weather really cooperated because it rained as we were driving up there but then it stopped until it was time to drive home. We even got to stay until the fireworks at the end!
