Vegas/Talbie's Birthday

It sounds bad to say we took Talbie to Vegas for her 16th birthday, but we did ;)

Talbie's official birthday is in 2 weeks but she has Girl's Camp next week so

we celebrated over the weekend.

We drove to Vegas and stayed at my parent's house there.  They met us there

and it made it so fun.  It was nice because we brought Emmie and Bronson with us

but didn't get to come along on some of the celebration so they stayed behind

and partied with grandma and grandpa.

Talbie actually went with grandma and grandpa on Wednesday and then we met

them on Friday.  We started shopping right when we got into town ;)

 Then we went to the best pizza place in Vegas.  "Nathan's Pizza."

Its so yummy!!

 Sorry for the poor quality of photos, but I forgot my good camera 

and had to use my phone the whole time :(

Saturday we took Talbie out for her official birthday meal :)

 

 Then we saw ""Phantom of the Opera"

-the reason we went to Vegas!

 

 Talbie bought a phantom mask :)

The show is at the Venetian, which is so fun.

The show is fantastic.  Better than when I saw it on Broadway or L.A.

It was a great trip!!

Walk to the Temple

This morning our Young Women group walked to the Provo Temple

in preparations to their week at Girl's Camp at the end of the month.

It was a 6 mile walk and I was able to meet them at the end and take some picture.

Oakley Rodeo 2012

Our family tradition is to go to the Oakley Rodeo during the 4th of July.

We always have such a great time!

Here's our group this year.  My mom couldn't make it

because she just had knee surgery and the bleachers would have

been hard on her.

Horseback Riding Lessons

Emmie has been taking horseback riding lessons this summer

and LOVING IT!

She takes lessons in Santaquin at the most

beautiful ranch.  

 This is Emmie and her teacher, Baylee going to get the horse

"Bucky"

 His name sounds scary but he's the most gentle, 30-year old horse ever!

 Look at their view...

 Dave fell in love with the horses.  He's excited because he gets to

get on a horse at the her next lesson!  It's been years since he rode a horse.

He's so excited!

 Before she rides, she always has to get the horse ready by brushing him...

 and cleaning their feet.

 Then she finally gets on!

 She's a natural.  She had him running (well- trotting really fast) on her second lesson.

 A trick she learned today was to kick one leg over, then the other 

to face the other way

 ...and then flip back and give her horse a hug good-bye.

 I shouldn't have brought Dave with us this time

because they both think they need their own horse now!

Father's Day Part III

Dave was spoiled this Father's Day but we love him

so he deserved it!

Emmie and I made him a candy-gram

 Look at Emmie - she was so sad this morning because she had

made Dave a Father's day present at Activity Days but she

had cleaned her room and couldn't find it!

 It made her so sad :(

 Maddie driving her poor brother crazy!

 Maddie gave Dave a new shirt and some cool new "shades"

 Talbie made Dave a jar like mine on Mother's Day with 

"31 reasons why I love you" inside.  It's such a great gift!

 Bronson gave him some duct tape, bungees, and some wood glue.

Bronson was the one that needed these things so he thought they'd make

a great gift for dad!

 I gave Dave a new tie tack

 

...and he got a new saw because his broke!
