Loveless Girls Christmas Party

One of my favorite parties of the year happens the first Sunday of December.

There are only 3 girls in my mom's family - her older sister Dena, herself, and her younger sister Georgia.  My grandma Vivian,(their mom) past away about 15 years ago.  

She died in December, close to her birthday.  My grandma LOVED to throw

parties and we loved coming to her parties!  So, in her honor, all the girls

on the Loveless side, get together the first Sunday of December and have a Christmas party.

What's fun is that now there is another generation getting old enough to come and enjoy

the party.  This year Maddie, Talbie, and Carlie came.

 Each year one of the sisters takes her turn to host.  This year it was Georgia turn to host so her daughter, Stacy had it at her house in Cedar Hills.  It's a good "half-way" point for all of us.

Thanksgiving 2012

I've been a slacker about blogging!  I will regret that someday.

If you have Instagram on your phone, you'll see that I post more

there these days than I do on my blog.

We had a fun Thanksgiving this year with my family.

This was the time in 20 years that we didn't go to the

Provo Marriott for Thanksgiving brunch.  We just had

dinner at my mom and dad's this year and it was just as delicious!

Brittany's family joined us when we went to the movie

Wreck It Ralph.  It was a great day!!

Happy Halloween 2012

We had another successful Halloween!

Here are some snapshots of the kids...

Talbie was the cutest "country bumpkin" you'll ever see!

 We found this darling dress at Savers for $3.00 and couldn't resist. 

 Someone had gone to an enormous amount of work for this cute dress and luckily

it fit Talbie like it was made for her!

 Bronson went as James Dean.  It was a close to dressing up as he was going to get!

I only have 1 more Halloween parade next year when Emmie is a 6th grader.

That will be really weird - and kinda sad :(

 Maddie was going to go as Marilyn Monroe for Halloween because

people are always telling her that she looks like her.

But the day before Halloween, she learned how to do latex makeup and make

these gruesome looking gashes in her head.

 It's hard to tell from the pictures but they were pretty realistic and gross!

We went by her work and snapped a picture of her.

Talbie's Quilt

Talbie started working on a quilt 4 years ago. 

Starting in the 7th grade, she was learning how to do embroidery and started

making squares of her favorite Broadway plays.

Through the years she has gotten really good and finally she had 35 squares, enough

to make a pretty good size quilt.  I taught her how to sew borders around the squares

and she did all the sewing 100% by herself (with occasional help from me

when the sewing machine would need to be threaded.)

We borrowed aunt Lynnie's quilt frames on Friday night and got it all ready to tie.

 She then got a call and was asked out on a date :)

Dave and I decided to surprise her and tie and and finish it off.

What I absolutely love about this quilt is the 4 years it took her to make it.

Some of the first squares aren't sewn as well and are misspelled :)

Then I can see some of her more intricate squares that were completed just this year.

Way to go Talbie!!

Sadies 2012 (Real Pictures!)

Tonight is the Sadie Hawkins dance at OHS

Talbie has such a great group of friends.  I love everyone of them!

It's such a huge group of friends that they had to divide themselves into

2 big groups for this dance.

I met them at the location they were getting pictures taken so

I could get some good shots - and of course I left my nice camera home!

I drive myself crazy sometimes!!

Anyway, I did get some pictures but just with my phone :(

Talbie is a Great Mom!

Last week, Talbie brought home a "robot baby" for her

Child Development class.  She had the baby from Friday night to Monday morning.

It's one of those babies that is programmed to cry at certain times of the day and you

have to try and feed it, change it, rock it, or burp it, to see what it needs.

One night it woke me up in the middle of the night as I could hear it crying downstairs

in Talbie's room.  I went down to see if I could help.  Talbie was very attentive :)

This wasn't the first time Talbie has taken a class like this and had to take care

of a "baby."  

She took a class like this in 8th grade and had to take care of an "egg baby" and then a 

"flour sack baby."

Bronson's Ordination

Sunday, October 14th, 2012 - Bronson was ordained to be a Teacher.

It was such a good Sunday because at the same time, they set Talbie apart as the

new Laurel President.  I'm just so proud of my good kids :)
