Christmas 2014 Part 2

Christmas morning was magical this year.

Here are some of our pictures...

Everyone was anxious to get opening their presents!

 Maddie got a new juicer and we gave Logan his very own gun ;)

I think he liked it a lot!

 Everyone did pretty well in the present department.

Emmie got a lot of workout/soccer stuff.  And new church clothes.

Bronson got a lot of clothes because he never did give me a Christmas list with other ideas on it.

Talbie got books and some clothes.  I also found a place to order a silver ring with her name on it.

She was pretty excited about that.

After everyone had opened their presents, we surprised Emmie with a new iphone.

She lost her phone about a month ago and the funny thing is that Logan found her phone on

Christmas Eve night.  It had fallen down in the couch and he felt it.  I think she was a little bummed

and a littler nervous that she wouldn't be getting a new phone now :)

 

We surprised Talbie with some cash.  She works so hard

so she can have money for college.  Her college is 100% paid for with her scholarship and a grant

she got.  She just needs spending money and she is pretty frugal.

She got a new job when she came home.  She have until April to work to save enough money until she is back off track next December.  This little bit of money will help her ;)

 The biggest surprise was for Bronson.  He has wanted a car to drive since he

turned 16, 2 months ago.  He didn't think it was a possibility and frankly, Dave and I

didn't think we could pull it off either.  It was a Christmas miracle.

 Dave found this 1980 Mercedes that was in perfect condition.

He was in love!

 Maddie and Logan made a spare bedroom with their air mattress in our

living room so they could spend the night Christmas Eve.  It was so nice having 

everyone together!

I didn't get a picture of Bronson's loot but it really just

consisted of clothes, some cologne, and a car!

Christmas 2014 part 1

We had a wonderful Christmas.  I'm always amazed

at the Christmas miracles that occur in order for Dave and I to pull Christmas together every year!

We always start our Christmas festivities by exchanging the gifts

that the kids give to each other after they draw names in November.

Maddie gave to Emmie and she gave her weights and work out clothes

(Emmie's favorite!)

 Talbie gave to Bronson and he got some Star Wars shirts

 and a BYU-I shirt :)

 Emmie gave to Talbie and she gave her some stuff that will help

her eyelashes grow long, that Maddie uses.

She also made her this beautiful picture in art class.

It's a picture of Talbie that she traced and they made by writing

small words and things that describe her.  It is lovely!

 Bronson gave to Maddie and Logan.  Maddie got a velour sweat suit

and Logan got some slippers :)

Then we head over to my parents house for Christmas Eve!

We eat, open presents, and just have a great time together.  It's a wonderful tradition!

2014 Highlights For Our Family

Maddie and Logan were married the first part of March.  They waited 5 years and we are so glad to finally have Logan as part of our family!

Talbie graduated from Orem High School and started college with a scholarship to BYU-Idaho.  She really loves college life!

Bronson turned 16, started 10^th grade, and got his driver’s license.  This has come in handy since 2 of our drivers moved out this year.

Emmie turned 12 and has loved playing competition soccer, Young Women activities at church, and meeting new friends in the 7^th grade.  She also got braces which, believe it or not, is a highlight of her year .

Dave and I continue to be busy even though our kids are getting older.  We are thankful for our friendships with each of you.

 Maddie and Logan did their first official Christmas Card this year, as a married couple.

(I think they did one or 2 when they were dating ;)

They also have a new addition to their family.  Their little dog, Zuzu.

We sure love her!

Christmas at the Nursing Home

Sandy and Alisa had the wonderful idea to get some gifts together

for the staff at the Beehive Home where Mary (Dave's mom) lives.

We also got some gifts together for a man who lives there as well. 

Ferrell doesn't have any family that lives close by so it was fun to

play "Secret Santa" to him.

After we wrapped everything, we headed to the nursing home.

He wanted us to sing a church song with him so he led us in

"I Stand All Amazed"

 Bentley was a huge hit with all the residents :)

 

I think it really brightened their spirits to have us come and sing to them.

I know it brightened our Christmas!

Bishopric Christmas Party

The Farley's were graciously willing to host the Bishopric Christmas party

this year.  It was so fun to get together with the families and eat yummy food and just be together!

Shooting Range Date Night

Our wonderful neighbors planned a date night with a few couples.

It was so fun.  We went to a local shooting range and shot guns

and then we went out to dinner.

Dave and I don't shoot very often and we really should!

He enjoys it so much and he's so good at it.  I'm actually surprised

how much I enjoy it when I go!

 

Fall Soccer 2014

Emmie had a terrific soccer season this last year.  

She was on the competition soccer team Firestorm.  She was so blessed

to be picked at tryouts to be on this team.  The coaches are just great!

Both of her coaches have daughters on the team.  Coach Hendricks founded the team

and picked Emmie up at tryouts in the Spring.  Then Coach Lewis joined the team with 

her daughter.  Coach Lewis was Timpanogos Girl's Soccer coach for years

and they take Stake just about every year.

Emmie grew so much just over the summer and this fall when games started.

She is quite the soccer forward now!

Here are some pictures from her season.  They will be starting indoor

soccer on the middle of December.  I'm really glad the are doing this

so they won't loose all of their skills they have been working on.

Halloween 2014

Halloween is pretty uneventful around here these days.

Since I don't have any kids in elementary school, dressing up is not as exciting.

 Halloween night we went to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat.

 Bronson helped pass out the candy :)
