Bronson's Carpentry Merit Badge

For the past few months, Bronson has been working on his
Carpentry Merit Badge with his dad.
He's a natural at this kind of stuff, just like Dave.
For Bronson's project, he wanted to make a guitar. He worked on it for
hours and hours and he wouldn't let Dave help him - at all.
The guitar on the ground was his first project and it took him about 3 months to finish.
The guitar he is holding only took him about one week.
He's pretty amazing ;)

Lessons I Learned as a Boy

Pen Pals

Emmie came home from school one day and said she wanted a pen pal
because they had been talking about them in school.
I told her she had a pen pal - her cousin Ember that is her exact same age
and lives in Texas. She immediately sat down and wrote to Ember and about
a week later, Ember wrote back! She was so excited. Here is the darling picture Ember
drew for Emmie.

Emmie wrote her right back again. This helps these BFFs stay in touch.
I remember when I would write to my cousin Leslie here in Utah when I lived in Idaho.
It was such fun!!

"The Money Doubler"

This week Maddie had a writing assignment in one of her classes. I thought it was for
her College Writing class but it was actually for Financial Lit.
She had to write her own children's book. I was quite impressed with her book
but mad when she told me that the teacher keeps all the books and told the students
ahead of time that they wouldn't be getting them back!

My dad the banker will enjoy this book.
I wish I had a "Money Doubler" at my house!

Oktobefest 10K

Yesterday Maddie and Brittany ran their very first 10K
They did AWESOME!
This is HUGE considering 18 months ago Brittany was
in bed paralyzed after having Boston. She's come a long way~

They were pretty excited. So excited that Brittany had to use the
"bathrooms" before the race.
The lines were long!

But we had fun waiting in line. Especially as we got closer and
the smell started to gag us :)

After the potty break, we waited in the car to stay
warm before it started because it was so cold!

We made signs to welcome them to the finish line.

Maddie made me promise not to tell Logan where the race
was ending (I think in case she didn't make it) but she was so
glad to see him when he was there at the finish.

They actually came in at 1:03!

Brittany was so glad Logan included her name on the poster :)

"Nanna" is FINISHED!

We did it! We created a Nanna costume out of that stuffed animal!

I'm pretty pleased. I just hope she doesn't roast on stage!

Emmie is so relieved because now I can hopefully create her
Halloween costume!

Crazy Hair Day 2010

For Red Ribbon Week they always have a Crazy Hair Day.
We always seem to do the same kind of hair-dos but they get a kick out of them.

I'm really getting sick of the crazy faces I'm getting with the pictures these days!

Halloween Aprons

I've really been enjoying sewing again since I've been making
Talbie's costumes. I decided to break for a couple of days
and as I was digging through my old fabric, I came across a bunch of
Halloween fabric that I've had forever. I decided to make aprons!

These are "Trick-or-Treat" aprons and they have huge pockets
in them so you can fill it with candy as you are handing out your treats on
Halloween night!

I'm going to have lots of fun giving these out!

Homemade Pizza for Family Night

We made yummy homemade pizzas for FHE this week.
We love pizza that we make so much better than pizza from anywhere else.
Especially because each person makes them just how they like them.

Emmie was my helper and got the toppings ready

I roll the dough out and put them in pie pans. It makes the perfect personal pizza.
I can't get anyone to pose for a good picture anymore!

While we waited for our pizza's to cook - we had our lesson.
I found these darling scripture charts HERE.
We each got one with stickers because we are all starting to read
the Book of Mormon again. When you finish your chart and
have read the Book of Mormon - you get to go on a date with mom and dad.
It's a pretty sweet deal for us :)
