Sadie's 2013

Once again, I'm behind on blogging and since I updated last, Talbie has 

had another school dance.

Sadie Hawkin's was last weekend and of course, she had a great time :)

Homecoming 2013 part 2

Last Saturday was Homecoming and Talbie had such a great time!

For the day date, they went boating.  It was such a rainy week but they lucked out

and caught a perfect window on Saturday and had a great time.

Homecoming 2013

Last week, Talbie got asked to Homecoming!

Here's the story...

So, last week a boy came up to Talbie and asked her if she had been asked to Homecoming yet.  She said that she hadn't been asked (Homecoming was still a month away at this point) and came home kind of upset because she didn't want this particular boy to ask her.  He's a nice boy, just not her type.

The next day she was in the library at lunch and the librarian came up and

handed her a bag of Tootsie Rolls, with this note attached...

She opened up the bag, knowing already who was asking her, and found the

Tootsie Roll with the name of the boy asking her on it.

To her pleasant surprise, it was from a boy she was excited to go with!

I guess this boy heard that the other boy was going to ask her so he acted fast.  He bought the bag of Tootsie Rolls and typed up the note right then and there and had it delivered to her in the library.

A few days later we answered him.  She had me pick up a pepperoni pizza where they 

arranged the pepperoni's to say "YES"

She had me and Brittany deliver it to the school so they could deliver it to him in class.

As luck would have it, he was in Seminary so I got to deliver it

out there and take it right to his class :)

Since Monday was Labor Day and school was out, 

we went shopping for a dress.  She found the perfect dress and we ordered

the shoes yesterday online.  

The dance is September 14th so I will post more pictures then!

First Day of School

Well, the summer came and went like it does every year.

Every year it seems to go a little faster :(

My kids were eager to get back to school as it got closer.

It's always fun to get back to a schedule and seeing friends.

They are already a little sick of it because the homework has started.

Talbie is a senior this year.  She will be so busy this year

but it will be a great year for her!

She was bummed because the Student Council decided to wear their their

"Studco" shirts so she didn't get to wear one of her new cute shirts.

I thought she looked cute anyway :)

 Bronson started 9th grade.  He is a typical boy because he

had a bunch of new clothes in his closet but he chose to wear an old shirt and old shorts

for his first day :(

 I love that Talbie has her own car now because she drops

Bronson and Brock off at the Jr. High every morning on her way to school.

 My baby started 6th grade!  All the kids are the oldest in their

schools this year.  That's a big deal because they will all be graduating from

their current school at the end of the year.

 Brittany snapped some pictures at her house before they

walked out the door to the bus.

  ...and then he got made when he realized that he

wasn't getting on the bus with everyone.  Next year he will

be in kindergarten so he has a long wait :(

It feels weird leaving Maddie out of the first day of school pictures but

since she graduated from high school 2 years ago and hair school last year - she doesn't have

first days of school anymore.

I don't know if I mentioned it on the blog but she started working at Dr. Myers office

with me.  It's been so fun having her there and she has been a fast learner.

It's going to be a great job for her.

I love my job and I'm thankful that I have such a great place to work.

I also get off at 2:00 every day so I'm home before the kids get there which is

an even greater blessing!

Dave's Stitches...

About a month ago, Dave was working at the house they are building and

he tripped and landed on a bolt that went through his arm.

He said when it happened, blood was spurting out like a fountain.

Luckily he's good in emergency situations because he instantly

used his thumb to press on his artery (that he nicked) and stopped the bleeding.

He had his partner, Jerry drive him to the Instacare, where I met him.

The Instacare sent us straight to the ER because they were afraid he would need surgery

to repair the artery.

At the hospital, they saw he hadn't severed his artery, only nicked it.

The stitched him up and he was good as new.

 Some of these pictures are a little gross so I apologize.

 I was in my scrubs since I had come straight from work.

They let me help hold the light and watch him get stitched up :)

Pioneer Day Rodeo

We try and keep our tradition of going to a rodeo every year.

We usually go to Oakley, UT for the rodeo over the 4th of July but this year

we thought we would try the Spanish Fork rodeo over Pioneer Day.

It was fun but a lot bigger.  I hope we can go back to Oakley next year.

Summer Blog Catch Up

I am so behind on blogging!  I will try and catch up so I can keep a record of

our summer's activities :)

At the end of June, Brittany and Jared went to California

for work and ended up going to Disneyland together (with no kids!)

This is how Boston felt about it...

 Talbie babysat for them for the weekend and we did

some fun things together.

 Monster's Inc II

 It made for a full house on Sunday for dinner with 8 kids :)

Emmie has discovered a love of drawing and

has made 2 pictures to submit to the Friend Magazine.

I hope they publish one of them!

Bronson got a pet turtle and we named him Pistachio.

He is such a fun turtle.  He is always out of his shell and is not

shy at all.  He will eat in front of us and is fun to take outside to play.

 Bronson also worked a lot with his dad and came home most days

looking like this...

 This is Boston with some of the neighborhood kids that love

to come to our house for a treat everyday :)
