Emmie's 6th Grade Graduation

This is a crazy time of year!  Emmie had her 6th grade graduation last week.

The last 2 weeks of school have also been filled with field trips, award ceremonies, final projects,

class parties, graduation, etc.

I can't believe my baby just finished elementary school.  As Dave and I were walking

down the hall to the gym for graduation, we said to ourselves, "This is the last

time we will walk these halls."  It felt weird!  I'm sure we will be in the school again

with Brittany's kids, or maybe even grand kids some day, but it was the last

for one of our own kid's events!

 I had to get one of Emmie and Logan.  I need to compare this picture to

their first day of kindergarten :)

 Here they are with the fabulous teacher Miss Crockett!

She is - hands down - the best teacher ANY of my kids have ever had.

We will be so sad to not have her anymore :(

Dry Creek Hike

Last Saturday I went on a hike up Dry Creek with Maddie and Emmie.

I love to hike around here.  I'm not in the best shape of my life but it's my

favorite way to exercise.  Maddie and Emmie are always nice to wait for me and go slow.

 

 It's hard to tell, but Maddie's feet are dangling over a huge cliff!

 It's a beautiful view when you reach the top.  I think I have developed

a fear of heights in my old age because having my kids so

close to a cliff, really made me anxious!

 I always love the going down part of a hike :)

Easter 2014

I haven't posted about Easter yet because we got the grandkids

together before an Easter party at my parents house - and took their picture.

It was a Mother's Day surprise for my mom and I didn't want to ruin it :)

We always do our Easter baskets on Saturday.

This is everyone one anxiously waiting for theirs...

 The boys always get a new tie in their basket.

I don't know why Dave is making this funny face ;)

 

Then we were heading over to my parent's house for our annual Easter party.

I think this picture turned out so cute of all the kids.  It's nice that they are all

older because it makes picture taking a lot easier!

 

 We all met at my parent's house for pizza and then we started the

annual "crazy" egg hunt.

I shouldn't call it an egg hunt because we put all the eggs in the middle of a table

and take turns picking one egg at a time.

 The littke kids ad their own little hunt before so they would

be entertained during our "heated" one :)

Everyone watches anxiously as we pick an egg, one at a time,

open it, and see what we scored!

 It can get pretty competitive and my dad has to watch the eggs carefully.

As it's your turn to pick, you can't touch any of the eggs except the one you pick.

If you touch it - you have to pick it.

 The reason it's so intense is because there is money in these eggs!

It can range from .25 cents to $50.00

 We all did pretty well :)  I got one of the $50.00 dollar bills so I was happy!

And yes, my mom's basement is decorated with her Santa collection - all year long :)

Prom 2014 Continued...

I forgot to put a couple of pictures on the previous Prom post with Talbie.

I like to keep a record (when I remember) of how the kids ask

and answer for the dates.  Here are the pictures I forgot to post...

 The doorbell rang about 10 o'clock at night when Austin came to ask Talbie.

Maddie and Logan were actually coming over at that time and caught them :)

Austin and his friends had been trying to light these candles but they kept blowing out.

so they wrote at the bottom of it "sorry we couldn't light the candles - it was too windy!"

 This is how Talbie answered him...

We went to the dollar store and got beach stuff and said

I "shore" was happy when you asked me to Prom.  It's

a "swimming" idea!

Prom 2014

Talbie's Sr. Prom was tonight.  She has been having so much fun!

She went with Austin Jackson.  We have been friends of their family for

years and Jill is Emmie's BFF

 

Last night (Friday), Austin picked up Talbie and their group went zip-lining

in Provo Canyon.  Talbie was nervous but ended up having so much fun!

 

 Then today around noon, he picked her up and they all went to his house

for lunch and then a scavenger hunt around town.

Tonight he picked her up for dinner and the dance :)

 After all of her dances, she finally got the boutineer pinned all by herself :)

Talbie's Graduation Announcements

Talbie and I designed her graduation announcements tonight!

I can't take all the credit for these because I always cheat and

find a template online and design it.  Then I drag it to the desktop

on my computer and then get them printed at Costco.  I'm too cheap to

pay a lot of money for them :)

I think they turned out cute.  

May is always a busy month, especially if you have a

graduating senior in the house!

This Saturday is Prom!
