The Money Game!

My dad plays this game with the kids called "The Money Game!" This is how it works...the kids stand in the entry way of my parents house and my dad stands upstairs with money. He folds one bill at a time and drops it down to the kids. If they catch it before it touches the floor - they get to keep it. If it touches the floor or lands somewhere before they catch it - it has to be returned to my dad, upstairs. The kids take turns trying to make their fortune and it's very stressful!

The kids played this the other day with dollar bills. Today we had a baby shower for my sister-in-law, Kali. Talbie came early with me to get things set up. I was down in the basement when she came down and said, "Grandpa played the money game with me and I got a $50!" My dad will do this sometime with the older kids and it really puts the pressure on.

Talbie couldn't wait to tell Maddie the news when she got there for the shower. You can imagine Maddie reaction when my dad said he was out of money...



But everyone knows that Grandpa is never out of money - so...

Maddie was able to catch her 50 dollar bill!

Father's Day Part II - The Money Game!

Grandpa loves to play the "Money Game" off his balcony in his house.

He will stand at the top of his staircase and drop dollar bills.  The rule is that if

you catch it in the air, it's yours.  If it hits the ground then you have to

carry it back up to him and he will do it again.

This is a stressful game and harder than it seems.  He's been known to 

drop $5, $10, $20, $50 and even $100 dollar bills (on the rare occasion!)

I also noticed my dad is wearing the same shirt last night as in the post from 2008.  It must be a lucky shirt (or maybe that's why he has so much money for the money game - because he never buys himself new clothes!)

Baby Shower

Kali's baby shower on Saturday was a success! We had so much fun getting together with everyone and it made it so exciting to know baby "Ally" will be here in no time. She's going to be the most beautiful baby. Ever since Cody and Kali got married my mom has always said that she couldn't wait to have some "milk chocolate" babies. I hope that's not offensive to anyone but she really is going to be beautiful!

I am such a "shrimp!" I had to have Talbie go get my shoes to put back on before the guests started arriving so I wouldn't have to strain my neck to talk to people!

Talbie is so crafty and made this pillow for the shower.


It says "Ally" had has a bee on it because her nursery is decorated with "Winnie the Pooh"


It was also Cody's birthday on Saturday so we celebrated with him too.


Your never too old for the money game! He had to catch his birthday check but he's gotten smart over the years of playing and he cheated and used his hat!

Happy Father's Day 2012 - Part 1

We kicked off our Father's Day celebrations at my dad's house

last night.  Brittany and I brought brownies and ice cream over for the party!

Christmas Day

We had a magical Christmas.  I love being with my family all day!
Before I go any further, I just noticed that this is my 1,000th post on
my blog!  This blog is a treasure to me because I've stuck with it for nearly 6 years!!

 Emmie loved her teepee.  I'm so glad!

 Look what Santa left for mommy!  Wonder what it is...?

 We got a fun karoke game for the wii

 Maddie and her loot.  She got money this year as her main gift.

 I don't know why this kid can't open his eyes for pictures - but

he scored this year - got a Kindle too.

 And the baby... got all sporting goods and arrows.  She also got a Kindle :)

 And my surprise is I'm going to George Strait with Maddie

and my parents next month!  Can't wait!!

 After we opened presents, we went to see Les Miserables on opening day.

 I don't like reading what other people say about this movie.  Most love it,

some hate it.  I'm one of the biggest Les Mis fans out there.  I saw it on Broadway

the year it opened and have never stopped listening to it or seeing it.

I bawled my way through the entire movie.  I loved it!
